About Us

Our mission is to provide assistance to organizations and individuals serving youth and families in need of support to help them succeed and reach their fullest potential.

Who We Are

The Roy Hibbert, Jr. Foundation started as a bold idea: I want to inspire creativity, character and a sense of belonging for the youth our communities.  I want to be a voice for these young people who are not able to afford private education or the money to go to college and help them reach their full potential. I want to create a special kind of foundation, a place that encourages youth to continually learn, grow and treat each other with just a little more consideration than is usually evident in the “real world.”

What We Do

We support organizations that believe a new holistic approach to education for our youth is within our grasp.  Our path is not easy, and it requires an enormous amount of resources, determination and commitment from all involved — teachers, parents, children and administrators — but I believe our Foundation is creating a special resource like no other.  If you want to be part of turning this vision into reality, then please join us as we work together to put our most at risk youths on the path to success.”

HISTORY

The Roy Hibbert Jr. Foundation was formed in 2010 as a field-of-interest fund with The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region.  The Foundation has created a Board of Advisors in September 2014 to provide guidance and fundraising support in the future.  The goal of The Roy Hibbert, Jr. Foundation is to inspire creativity, character and a sense of belonging for the youth our communities.  I want to be a voice for these young people who are not able to afford private education or the money to go to college and help them reach their full potential. I want to create a special kind of foundation, a place that encourages youth to continually learn, grow and treat each other with just a little more consideration than is usually evident in the “real world.”
